EPREL Registration Guide

This guide explains how to register products in the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) to comply with EU Energy Labelling Regulation (EU 2017/1369).

Who Must Register

Suppliers (manufacturers, importers, or authorised representatives) of energy-related products covered by the Energy Labelling Regulation must register products in EPREL before placing them on the EU market. Covered products include: household appliances (washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, TVs, monitors, etc.); lighting products; tyres; and other energy-related products as specified in delegated regulations.

Registration Process

1. Create an EPREL account on the European Commission's EPREL portal. 2. Select the product group and model. 3. Enter the required product data (energy efficiency class, energy consumption, technical parameters, etc.). 4. Upload the product fiche and energy label. 5. Submit the registration. EPREL will generate a QR code linking to the product's EPREL entry, which must be included on the energy label.

Required Data

The required data varies by product group but typically includes: supplier name and trademark; model identifier; energy efficiency class; energy consumption; key technical parameters; noise level; and dimensions and weight. The specific data requirements are set out in the delegated regulations for each product group.
