Step 1: Determine Certificate Type
- ☐ Children's Product Certificate (CPC): required for products primarily intended for children 12 and under
- ☐ General Certificate of Conformity (GCC): required for other regulated products
Step 2: Conduct Required Testing
- ☐ For CPCs: test by a CPSC-accepted third-party laboratory
- ☐ For GCCs: conduct own testing or reasonable testing program
- ☐ Identify all applicable CPSC safety standards
- ☐ Obtain test reports confirming compliance
Step 3: Create eFiling Account
- ☐ Register at cpsc.gov/eFiling
- ☐ Obtain eFiling credentials
- ☐ Add product information and test results
Step 4: Submit Certificate
- ☐ Complete all required fields in the eFiling system
- ☐ Upload test reports
- ☐ Submit certificate before product enters US commerce
- ☐ Retain copy of certificate for 5 years
